Nintendo eShop releases for 11th May, 2017

Kayla Schwartz | 11 May, 2017, 04:22

Indie developer Huey Games, founded by industry veterans Rob Hewson, Andrew Hewson and John Ogden have announced that their retro inspired shoot 'em up Hyper Sentinel will be released on the Nintendo Switch later this year. Hopefully, then, the wait for a Nintendo Switch release date won't be too much longer. The company has stated that it's excited about the console and will look to bring more games to the system.

One of the things marring the Nintendo Switch at the moment is that sometimes the games simply cost more than they do on other platforms. There were some requests for Unreal Engine 3 to come to Wii U, but Epic Games was already winding down support for that version of the engine by the time the console was released. Apart from minor issues, Nintendo managed to deliver an all-round gaming system, which can be used as a hand-held device or can be docked to a TV screen.

Most Casuals are not going to buy the switch. That's a pretty monumental task, but Nintendo may be able to pull it off if the buzz surrounding big releases like Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, and Super Mario Odyssey keeps up.

Merkel party leads in warm-up for national vote
The NRW election will be decided on security, infrastructure and schools, three areas where the SPD-Green alliance is struggling. The Social Democrats came in about 2 points lower than forecast there and in Schleswig-Holstein last week.

The company is also stepping out of its hardware-software comfort zone to further drum up interest, promoting its game franchises and characters at theme parks and in films. It is, in its simplest form, a game of digital LEGO, where players fashion their own blocky worlds and do whatever they wish.

Nintendo will need to keep the supply of the Switch steady to keep up with the demand as well to reach its unit sales goal.

However, one aspect which came under scrutiny was the eShop or online shop for Switch games and other merchandises. But an analyst at a foreign securities company warned investors not to get ahead of themselves. It remains unlikely that we'll see a game like Star Wars Battlefront II make the jump to Switch, but a title like Madden NFL might.
