Royal family releases new photograph to mark 2nd birthday of Princess Charlotte

Kenny Thornton | 15 May, 2017, 00:28

Just hours after Kensington Palace released a photograph celebrate the royal toddler's second birthday, visits to the website of United Kingdom department store John Lewis spiked, as parents desperately tried to add the embroidered yellow cardigan to their shopping basket.

Charlotte's mother, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, revealed the photograph, which highlights the toddler's Tuesday birthday, according to The Telegraph.

Charlotte's first birthday was marked with the release of four official photographs by her parents.

In March 2016, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took then two-year-old Prince George and ten-month-old Princess Charlotte on their first ski holiday in the Alpine village of Courchevel.

Kate Middleton has just released new photos of her daughter Princess Charlotte ahead of her second birthday.

Kensington Palace said they "hope that everyone enjoys this photograph of Princess Charlotte as much as they do".

In the photo, taken in April, Charlotte can be seen wearing a traditional Fair Isle cardigan in baby blue and yellow from John Lewis with a slightly crumpled Peter Pan collar poking out of the top.

Will and Kate released pictures of Charlotte when she turned 1, and also when George, turned 1, 2 and 3.

But so far, we've only seen the one above, which Kensington Palace shared via its Instagram account.

Charlotte has not made many public appearances - her first official job was during the royal tour of Canada late past year. The BBC reports the family is expected to throw a party for the birthday girl.

Are we the only ones who can not believe Princess Charlotte is already two years old?

"They've got everything any child could ever want and - unusually for the Windsors- they've got two parents who completely and utterly dote on them", the palace insider explained.
