May says United Kingdom to continue to share intelligence with US

Kenny Thornton | 17 May, 2017, 21:40

The article came the day after it was reported Mr Trump had spontaneously revealed highly classified intelligence from a United States ally to the Russian foreign minister.

Israeli intelligence was a source for some of the information on ISIS bomb-making capabilities that President Donald Trump discussed with Russian diplomats, United States and diplomatic officials told CNN.

Also on Tuesday, National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster said that what Trump did was "wholly appropriate" and "consistent with the routine sharing of information between the president and any leader with whom he's engaged". His comments were reported by The Daily Beast.

Intelligence sharing is always hard and fraught, said Juliette Kayyem, a former senior official at the Department of Homeland Security, and the recent meeting between Mr. Trump and Russian officials will complicate future co-operation.

The Post, however, never reported that Trump discussed sources and methods, and McMaster didn't deny that Trump revealed classified information.

A US official who confirmed the disclosure to The Associated Press said the revelation potentially put the source at risk.

Israel is the largest recipient of USA foreign military aid.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C., said around midday Tuesday that he'd spent the morning trying to get someone at the White House to call him and explain what had actually happened. But Mr. Trump, as commander-in-chief, sits atop the system of classified information. "I have people brief me on great intel every day", just before revealing the intelligence.

The official said the information was provided to the U.S.by Israel. The Trump campaign's alleged links to Moscow have dogged his presidency and are part of several investigations.

Yet despite the anxiety and displeasure voiced by McCain and a handful of other prominent GOP lawmakers, Republicans did not appear poised to abandon a president who remains critical to their goals of acting on health care and tax legislation.

The ally in question is Israel, The New York Times reported on Tuesday, a country that Mr. Trump is scheduled to visit next week as part of his first trip overseas as President.

And NASA will Launch it
Local media quoted Shaarook that his main goal was to demonstrate the performance of 3-D printed carbon fibre. Sharook's satellite design might inform future materials choices among spacecraft designers.

Israeli ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer however reaffirmed that the two nations remained close.

In two tweets on Tuesday, Trump confirmed he had spoken to the Russian officials about terrorism and airline flight safety, but he did not confirm or deny whether the information was classified.

While there were good reasons to assume the compromised source was an agent, he said it was also possible it was a well-placed piece of signal intelligence. The official spoke only on condition that neither he nor his country be identified, because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. Biden's off-the-cuff comments marked the first time USA officials publicly acknowledged the existence of SEAL Team 6, by name.

"The revelation adds a potential diplomatic complication to an episode that has renewed questions about how the White House handles sensitive intelligence", The New York Times said.

But now that Russian Federation knows this, it can use the information to detect the spies providing intelligence to the United States in the region.

Susan Collins, a Republican senator from ME, went further, saying in a statement that it would be "very troubling" if the President had shared classified information with Russian Federation and noting that such a disclosure could "discourage our allies from sharing future information vital to our security". The top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Sen.

The United States is Israel's most important ally, providing it with more than Dollars 3 billion in defence aid each year.

Trump met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the Oval Office last week.

But McConnell acknowledged that "it would be helpful to have less drama emanating from the White House".

In the memo, former FBI Director James Comey shed more light on what led to his termination, and it is scandalous (and Comey is planning to testify under oath to the details). Trump has told advisers he's aware of a need to make changes to his White House team, though it was unclear what those moves might be or whether any were imminent.
