Skoda Karoq SUV Bound Skoda Karoq SUV revealed

Skoda has unveiled its new compact SUV, the Karoq which replaces the Czech carmaker's popular compact SUV, the Yeti, worldwide. We'd expect it to cost more than the Yeti, with a starting price of around £17,500. In terms of design, as we mentioned earlier, the Skoda Karoq looks like a smaller Kodiaq.

Skoda offers a number of new technologies as options in the Karoq and an all-digital instrument cluster is the highlight. The Skoda Karoq in profile is simple and has a typically SUV-esque greenhouse to body ratio along with a set of squared off fenders and large wheels that remind us of the Jeep Compass.

Part of the dimensions it is known that the vehicle length is 4382 mm, width - 1841 mm, height 1641 mm.as the wheel base front wheel drive version is 2638 mm, and in four-wheel drive - 2630.

The Karoq is 4,382mm long, 1,841mm wide, 1,605mm tall, and with a generous wheelbase of 2,638mm.

The simply clever motto is present inside - there are three independent rear seats that can also be removed completely for a maximum load capacity of no less than 1,810 liters (64 cu. ft.), with the modular rear seats actually belonging to the VarioFlex system, a trait that apparently hasn't died out with the Roomster.

On the inside, the Karoq will feature a fully customisable HUD and Full-LED headlights with clear lens optics which will be available in the ambient trim onwards. Skoda is offering a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG gearbox along with the Karoq and while the newly developed 2.0-litre engine can only be had with the DSG, the other four engines are available with either the manual or the DSG. With the rear seats folded down, the volume increases to 1,630 l. The two petrol engines and two diesels are new in the line-up.

That doesn't excuse him for the comment, but it's encouraging to see that he knows the mistake he made and feels awful about it. Pillar had already stated he's apologized to Motte following the game, saying his comment was "stupid" and "immature".

Stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the Skoda Karoq. Skoda claims it can crack 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 131mph - although its Carbon dioxide emissions of 138g/km mean it's likely to be one of the niche choices in the range, especially in the UK.

The Czech auto maker will also offer a variety of diesel and petrol engines which will range from small 1.0-litre displacement units through 1.5-litre petrol variants - that will feature cylinder deactivation technology to increase efficiency - and on to the 140kW 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit seen throughout the Volkswagen Group's models. It has Skoda's Phonebox as well, which offers inductive wireless charging and couples the smartphone to the roof antenna.

Meanwhile, safety and driver assistance systems include parking assist, autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with forward collision warning and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistant, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition.

All powertrains feature turbo-charged direct injection units as well as start -stop- technology with regenrative braking. The 2.0 TDI with 190 PS comes as standard with 4×4 drive and 7-speed DSG.

The Karoq is due on sale in the final quarter of this year, with first deliveries expected in January 2018. The petrol engines are a 1-litre TSI unit with 113 bhp and 175 Nm of torque or a 1.5-litre TSI with 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
