The 2017 Eurovision 2017 victor of the competition was Portugal's Salvador Sobral, who scored 382 points from juries and 376 points from viewers, including 8 from the UK. He reached a total of 758 points (382 jury points and 376 televote points).

Graham Norton, guided United Kingdom viewers through the contest on BBC1, and described Jones" performance as "stunning', adding: "It has to be one of our strongest entrants in years". Third was Moldova's SunStroke Project with a raucous song called "Hey, Mamma".
