West Ham and Stoke leading race to sign £15m-rated Chris Wood

Chris Wood has created 36 chances in the Championship this season Chris Wood has created 36 chances in the Championship this season

Despite the 25-year-old excellent record in front of goal Leeds were unable to secure a play-off spot and, according to the Mirror, that could open the door for West Ham to make a move.

Chris Wood's effect and importance to the Leeds United side can not be underestimated when it is compared to the efforts of last season.

Breaking this "rumor" down a little bit, let's examine these possible destinations.

Could Leeds' Wood cut it at a club like West Ham United/Southampton/SwanseaCity/Stoke City? People that claim to be "in the know" about West Ham have never mentioned Wood's name.

Severe storms, including hail and damaging winds, expected Thursday evening
The storm will be capable of producing very large hail, strong tornadoes, damaging wind and flooding, he said. Chetek Mayor Jeff Martin estimated the park, about 40 miles north of Eau Claire, had around 50 homes.

It is suggested that West Ham and Stoke are leading the race to sign the New Zealand global. If they were interested in Wood, it wouldn't come from the Daily Star.

Southampton could look to bring in another forward with Shane Long and Jay Rodriguez rumoured to be heading out, Stoke City are in the market for a new attacker and Swansea are looking to replace Borja Baston to give Fernando Llorente some competition.

Leeds have Wood under contract until the summer of 2019, but it has been claimed they could ask for around £15m for the striker.

But Chris Wood is more than a simple 30-a-season striker, much more than a headline goal grabber. So these kinds of "rumors" feel forced, nearly as if someone who would directly benefit from a new contract for Wood being negotiated with the new owner are the source of them.
