The North Korean army is repairing protective walls for gallery positions to brace for possible cruise missile strikes after witnessing such USA attacks on Syria last month, a US broadcaster said Thursday.

"The South Korean authorities have to draw a serious lesson from the wretched fate of traitor Park Geun-hye", the KCNA reported in English Thursday, "who met a miserable end while vociferating about "nuclear threat from the North" and going keen on hurting the fellow countrymen with the help of outsiders that only think [of] inflicting nuclear disaster on the nation".

In another dispatch on KCNA Friday, based on a commentary from a person only identified as Kim Myong-chol, the North said "dialogue and confrontation can not coexist" and that "kow-towing to outside forces is anti-unification", apparently referring to South Korea's alliance between the U.S.

"I am sure that more defections of my colleagues will take place, since North Korea is already on a slippery slope", Thae had said in January.

North Korea has feted the scientists and technicians behind its latest missile launch with a parade on the streets of Pyongyang, the state news agency reported on Friday.

It is known to the entire world that the North Korea and the United States are not sharing a good bonding these days.

The US has deployed the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) system in South Korea to defend against threats from North Korea.

Members of the public cheer as North Korean missile developers go by.

As well as the THAAD system, the U.S. has 28,500 troops station in South Korea to counter threats from Pyongyang.

Kim also dismissed allegations that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea - the country's official name - was behind the recent wave of global cyberattacks as "ridiculous". "Therefore, the urgent issue to be settled on the Korean Peninsula is to put a definite end to the United States hostile policy towards DPRK, the root cause of all problems". A U.S. State Department spokesman said the United States remains open to talks with North Korea but the country would have to "cease all its illegal activities and aggressive behavior in the region".
