The FBI and the oversight committee as well as several other congressional panels are looking into Russian "meddling" in the 2016 presidential election and possible connections between Russia and the Trump campaign.

Last week, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller, the former FBI director, as special counsel overseeing the Russian Federation investigation. Moscow has repeatedly denied the allegations and Trump denies any collusion.

The US intelligence community concluded in January that Moscow tried to sway the November vote in Mr Trump's favour.

President Donald Trump fired Flynn for making misleading statements to Vice President Michael Pence about his contacts with Russian officials.

Similar letters were sent to Michael Flynn, who resigned as White House national security adviser, and Carter Page, who served briefly in the Trump campaign as a foreign policy adviser. Manafort was Trump's campaign chairman but left the campaign in August.

Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law and one of his senior advisers, has come under FBI scrutiny in the Russian Federation investigation, multiple USA officials told NBC News.

The 30-year-old Scot is confident he can once again overcome adversity. "I've been in worse positions than this", Murray said. In November, Murray became the first British man to reach world No. 1 since the rankings were introduced in 1973.

Kushner initially failed to declare the meetings on forms to obtain a security clearance to serve in the White House.

Monday, Comey was scheduled to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee, but his testimony was postponed. He says the committee will be "following up with subpoenas" to maximize the chances of getting information from Flynn.

At first, the committee will ask for Flynn's voluntary participation and, if he refuses to agree, they will issue him with a subpoena, said Schiff.

Flynn, a retired general, is a key witness in the Russian Federation investigations because of his ties to Moscow.

As FBI director, Comey was outspoken in testimony to Congress - reaping both praise and criticism for his remarks - on topics including the agency's investigation of Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server when she was secretary of state and on his disclosure in March that the agency's investigation of Russian interference previous year included "whether there was any coordination" with Trump's campaign. The U.S. Justice Department announced last week that former FBI Director Robert Mueller had been appointed special counsel to lead an independent probe of the matter.

Sources told the Post that the meetings are being probed because of the 36-year-old's extent and nature of interactions with Russians.

Chaffetz is seeking Federal Bureau of Investigation documents and recordings detailing communications between Trump and Comey. Trump, as the presumptive Republican nominee, met with the Russian ambassador in April 2016 at a VIP reception at the Washington, D.C. hotel ahead of speech where Trump promised to improve relations with Russia.
