IMacs and MacBook Pros take a dip in Kaby Lake

At Apple WWDC 2017 we witnessed the unveiling of new iPad Pro models alongside the refreshed versions of the MacBook Pro and the iMac.

Apple iMac has been launched with a 21.5-inch display and a 21.5-inch iMac Retina 4K display and a 27-inch iMac Retina 4K display. The entry-level 21.5-inch iMac costs $1,099 and adds new Intel processors and GPUs, which will improve performance over the existing 2015 models. We had the 2018 Mac Pro reveal last month, today we have updated MacBook Pros (with Kaby Lake processors, faster SSDs and faster GPU options), new support in macOS High Sierra for external GPU enclosures, hardware decoding for H.265 in upcoming Macs and this super-charged iMac Pro. The new iMac (2017) comes out with "the best Mac display ever".

The MacBook Pro and MacBook Air - widely rumoured to be canned - are available to order on the Apple website or instore in the United States from tomorrow. This is the most powerful machine ever built by Apple.

Apple also said during the WWDC keynote that all of its laptops now have solid state drives that feature a 50% speed improvement.
