Derby County have signed defender Andre Wisdom from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee, pending a medical examination, the Championship club announced.

Wisdom has been out on loan with Derby, West Brom, Norwich and Red Bull Salzburg during the last few years with varying degrees of success.

As far as Wisdom's Liverpool record is concerned, his appearances amount to 22, in which he has provided two assists for his team-mates.

Last month Rowett admitted that Derby were interested in a deal for Wisdom but feared that the valuation of Anfield officials may have priced them out of a deal.

Jordan Spieth at least made the cut at the US Open, which is more than Dustin Johnson , Rory McIlroy , and Jason Day could say. Rocking a pair of hot pink slacks on Saturday, he made two bogies, nine birdies and an eagle in his record-breaking round.

He has already agreed personal terms with Derby.

The 24-year-old has been on four different loan spells in recent seasons, but now appears to be on his way out of Merseyside for good on a permanent deal. It was not the most successful loan spell as he was only able to make 22 appearances for the club during his time there.

Now, Wisdom - who can also operate as a centre-back - has a chance to show his worth, with Derby one of the favourites for promotion to the Premier League next season.

The Championship outfit will officially sign the former England Under-21 global for an undisclosed fee, but it has been reported that they have paid £4.5m to secure a deal for a player who has already represented them earlier in his career.
