Henderson won twice previous year, taking the KPMG Womens PGA Championship for her first major, and successfully defending her title in the Cambia Portland Classic. Henderson has won the Meijer LPGA Classic.

The young Canadian has four career victories after shooting 17-under 263, beating out Lexi Thompson and Michelle Wie by two strokes.

Henderson, who led after each of the first two rounds, fell out of first place after a second-round 67 but remained within striking distance of her first win of 2017.

Henderson tied for 11th last week in her native Ontario, her seventh top-15 finish of the year.

“Could have been really close to being a great shot, ” Henderson said. It's really cool to be able to make those putts under pressure.

Thailand's Moriya Jutanugarn is proving there is more than one champion in the family.

"I felt like today was going to be a really good day", Henderson said.

Overall, Sunday's win is her fourth LPGA title in a little more than two years of making regular LPGA starts. She went from a three-shot lead to one shot behind, and eventually lost to So Yeon Ryu in the playoff. Par was reduced to 69 because of flooding at the number five that turned the hole from a par five to a par three.

New Zealand's Lydio Ko finished the tournament in a tie for tenth after a final round one-under 68 while Australia's Sarah Jane Smith finished in a tie for 37th. I was looking at birdie nearly every hole, which is quite nice.

The LPGA Tour heads to Arkansas next week for the WalMart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G, where Ko defends. Jutanugarn's last two victories have been in Canada.
