'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Has A Diverse Cast For This Amazing Reason

Kenny Thornton | 28 June, 2017, 21:36

And as if all of that weren't enough, Holland has now confirmed an MCU fan theory that Peter Parker was the young kid from Iron Man 2.

As for Tom Holland's Spider-Man, you can see that character next when Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7th.

"It's something that I'm very interested in", star Tom Holland told io9.

"I remember watching that with [Marvel Studios head] Kevin Feige and everyone and being like, 'Does the math work on that?'" Watts recalled. "That was one of my first ideas, just because I knew".

Watts added that young Peter Parker was actually played by Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau's son, Max Favreau. A little kid wearing an Iron Man mask attempts to stop one of the drones, aka Iron Man, but is nearly killed - until Tony Stark swoops in and saves him, with a little "nice work, kid" for flare.

Spider Man (Peter Parker) has always been a super hero that we all love. We'll be seeing quite a bit of him in the next few years.

Peter Parker's cameo in Iron Man 2 has been one of the more persistent Marvel fan theories in recent years. We don't know, but we chose to ask the team behind Spider-Man: Homecoming if we'd ever find out. Similar Easter eggs were sprinkled throughout earlier films in the MCU. Meanwhile, director Jon Watts has been opening up about Homecoming's connections to the MCU. "I wouldn't say it's a definite hint, but I think it definitely opens that door".

He said: "Being back with Tom Holland and [Happy Hogan actor] Jon Favreau, it's just insane". I want to see people we haven't seen before because Spider-Man, of all characters, probably has the most villains and it only makes sense to explore new ones. So, coming out two months after Untitled Avengers, [that's what] much of what the next Spider-Man film will be about.

Kevin Feige revealed that his expensive wall-crawler won't be involved much more than he was in CIvil War.
