Trial date set for California suit against Cosby

Bill Cosby's Pennsylvania sexual assault trial may have ended in a mistrial, but that didn't stop another trial date from being set in California for his alleged role in sexually assaulting a teenage girl more than 40 years ago.

Actor and comedian Bill Cosby is accused of giving Judy Huth alcohol and then sexually abusing her around 1974 when she was 15 years old at the Playboy Mansion.

Judge Craig Karlan on Tuesday set July 30, 2018, as the trial date for Huth's lawsuit.

A Pennsylvania jury failed to reach a verdict earlier this month on charges that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand in 2004.

Bill Cosby on Tuesday said he has no plans to host town hall meetings on how to avoid being accused of sexual assault, just days after his two spokespeople said he would.

After a Los Angeles court hearing related to a civil lawsuit by a woman who has accused the comedian of sexual assault, Cosby attorney Angela Agrusa told reporters there was a "lot of miscommunication" about planned public appearances.

"The current propaganda that I am going to conduct a sexual assault tour is false", Cosby said.

The powerful ransomware code named " Eternal Blue " has impacted many central banks and large corporations in Europe. The attacks' modus operandi is similar to the recent spate of WannaCry ransomware attacks , CSA and GovTech added.

Cosby claims that the town hall tour that was announced by the PR team of Cosby last week would be a highly unlikely happening, at least not prior to any re-trials of Cosby on a criminal basis. She said Cosby is eager to return to performing. Held up because of the Pennsylvania trial and the nearly certainty that Cosby would claim his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination, a second deposition is rare in California civil cases. The goal of the hearing was to set a trial date in the civil case.

Cosby, 79, pleaded not guilty and has described the sexual encounter with Constand as consensual.

"He does not take lightly these criminal charges", Agrusa said. "Any further information about public plans will be given at the appropriate time". Cosby's lawyer would not comment on the specific case, but called the allegations against him, "unsubstantiated, fantastical stories".

A second deposition by Cosby was put on hold pending the criminal case. Someone must have pointed out to Cosby how bad this idea was because he's now denying that a tour was ever in the works.

Attorney Gloria Allred, who represents Huth, said the judge in Los Angeles Superior Court judge may delay setting a trial date to let Pennsylvania prosecutors pursue the retrial against Cosby first.
