The parents of a terminally ill British baby whose life support is to be withdrawn are to present new evidence in court Thursday, demanding they be allowed to travel to the United States for treatment.

Chris Gard and Connie Yates want a judge to rule that 11-month-old Charlie, who suffers from a rare genetic condition and has brain damage, should be allowed to undergo a therapy trial in the United States. The hospital believes his life support systems should be turned off.

At the High Court this morning, Grant Armstrong, acting for the parents, told the judge he had been "in error" when previously assessing key medical evidence in Charlie's case.

He said the plan was for a specialist in the U.S. who was offering therapy to give evidence by a link from the US.

The baby's father, Chris Gard, accused the hospital of lying at a preliminary hearing on Monday, shouting at the barrister representing the facility: "When are you going to start telling the truth?" "If he's still fighting, then we're still fighting".

Demonetization: Still counting number of returned notes, says Urjit Patel
The biggest question that he could answer is this: how many banned notes have been returned to the banking system. Besides Saturdays, many other holidays have also been suspended in order to complete the mammoth task.

Doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London, where Charlie is being cared for, say therapy proposed by a doctor in America is experimental and will not help.

Mr Justice Francis said in an apparent call for calm: "I want the parents to know that a very large number of people have worked hard in Charlie's interests and his welfare is the paramount concern of all of us, even though we approach it in different ways".

At 10:30a.m. Thursday in London (5:30a.m.in New York) the Royal Court of Justice will consider new evidence in the Charlie Gard case determining whether he will be permitted to receive an experimental treatment being offered by US physicians.

However, Charlie's parents have mounted extensive legal challenges, hoping to overturn the decision and seek further life-saving treatment for their son.

The case is still being heard.
