Authorities are trying to get to the bottom of how $1 million worth of marijuana ended up in several Ford Fusions at OH vehicle dealerships.

Sheriff David Doak said the Portage County Drug Task Force, along with agents from the DEA Youngstown RO, recovered and seized over 400 pounds of marijuana which was being shipped from Mexico to Northeast Ohio.

Investigators also determined 15 new Ford Fusions on a rail auto had their spare tires removed and were replaced with compressed packages of marijuana resembling a tire, the release says.

Silverio Balzano, agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Youngstown office, says the drugs were found between July 7 and July 1 at a Ford dealership in Youngstown, Ohio, according to WDRB.

"During this investigation, investigators determined that a rail auto containing 15 new Ford Fusions had their spare tires removed, replacing them with compressed packages of marijuana resembling a tire", Doak said. Authorities are trying to discover not only where it came from, but also who failed to pick up the sticky icky along the way. Five more packages of marijuana were found in Ford Fusions there, the release says.

The vehicles were produced in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, officials reported. I guess this explains why they're getting smuggled into Fusions of all things. He does, however, know of similar cases in Arizona and Minnesota.

A Ford spokesman said Saturday that the company is aware of the situation and "taking it very seriously".

Word on the street is the new Ford Fusions are dope - but not in the way you think. "We are working with the FBI and Customs on an extensive investigation". The official auto of "don't tell my grandson about this".
