Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is once again world's fastest train

China Gets World's Fastest Bullet Train, Covers Beijing-Shanghai Distance In 4.5 Hours Watch: China launches world's fastest train, capable of travelling at 350 km/h

A bullet train named Fuxing ("Rejuvenation"), which will travel at the new high speed, left Beijing South station at 9am for Shanghai.

The new train completes the 1,200-kilometer journey in just under four-and-a-half hours.

Qi Yanhui, Deputy Director of China Railway's Science and Technology Department, said the technology used for developing the train could also be adapted for railway products overseas.

The decision to increase the speed means that China once again has the world's fastest train service. Forty people were killed and over 190 injured when two high-speed trains travelling on the Yongtaiwen railway line collided on a viaduct in the suburbs of Wenzhou, Zhejiang province.

Game of Thrones writer Bryan Cogman will be working with George RR Martin in order to bring the Game of Thrones spin-off forward. Meanwhile, Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland, Max Borenstein, and Carly Wray are all at work on the other four successor shows .

With improved safety measures in place, the green light was given for the speed hike on the latest-generation "Fuxing" trains that went into operation in June on the Beijing-Shanghai route. The trains are entirely designed and manufactured in China, led by the China Railway Corporation.

The train has more than 2500 sensors, 500 more than in the previous models, capable of collecting real-time information from all carriages.

Now the country can design and manufacture the system all on its own and it has held a full range of intellectual property rights for making Fuxing.

Japan grabbed the India's first contract to build the high speed train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad for which the foundation stone was laid recently by Prime Minister and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.
