A seventh person has been arrested by detectives investigating the Parsons Green terrorist attack.

The suspect is now at a police station in south London and is being held under section 41 of the Terrorism Act.

Police last week charged 18-year-old Ahmed Hassan with planting the bomb at Parsons Green station on September 15.

The man is being held under the Terrorism Act and questioned at a London police station but the police has not charged or identified him yet.

Ahmed Hassan, 18, from Sunbury in Surrey, was charged with attempted murder by explosives.

The arrests were carried out by officers from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command, supported by colleagues from the Welsh Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit and South Wales Police.

The 18-year-old, from Sunbury-on-Thames, a town to the southwest of London, was remanded in custody until October 13.

Police are searching an address in Cardiff and say another search is ongoing at an address in Surrey.

On Friday, Westminster Magistrates Court heard the bomb, which failed to detonate properly, had been packed with knives and screws.

The device injured 30 people, with a woman suffering serious burns.

Authorities released three others - a 17-year-old boy and two men aged 21 and 48 - without further action.
