After the leader of the free world "uninvited" Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry from visiting the White House, Curry's fellow NBA'erLeBron James took to Twitter in his defense, calling the prez a "bum". First, Trump advocated during a public appearance that NFL owners fire players who don't stand for the national anthem.
The reaction was swift and voluminous as numerous athletes, team owners and league executives weighed in.
Mark Cuban has always been in opposition of Trump but the outspoken owner of the Dallas Mavericks stands by Trump's right as an American. If Trump and Curry do ever meet in person, it'll be very interesting to see how that plays out! Both leagues are predominantly made up of African-Americans, and Trump's words minimizing the way the struggles of those communities give them as much of a right as anyone to speak up about societal injustice.

CNN's Jake Tapper wryly tweeted on Saturday that Trump is "focusing like a laser on the major problems of the American people: black professional athletes with opinions". James tweeted in a clear message to the president - a post that Twitter officials said was quickly shared many more times than any other he's sent.
"We will continue to fight back against Trump every time he abuses his power, in every way possible".
Trump continued: "that's a total disrespect of everything that we stand for, OK?" "I never said anything about race".
If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!
"The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and culture".
"This can be an inflection point that leads to something positive", Cuban said.
Good old Trump though has struggled to attract some star names to perform with him, the likes of Elton John and Garth Brooks reportedly refused to perform for the U.S. President at his inauguration.
Once again, the president has faced a backlash over his comments, with a number of sports figures expressing their support for National Football League colleagues and criticizing Trump, including Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, as well as National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell. "I can't stand right now".
"You can talk about all the different personalities that have said things and done things, from Kaepernick to what happened to [Michael] Bennett to all sorts of examples of what has gone on in our country that we need to kind of change, " Curry said.
