Google Pixel 2 Pixel 2 XL Images Launcher Details Leaked Ahead of Wednesday Launch Twitter

Here is everything that Google is expected to reveal during the upcoming event.

"Thinking about changing phones?", the prominent tagline teases. The regular sized Pixel 2 will come out into the markets with a 4.99 inched display, while the larger of the two, the Pixel 2 XL is expected to feature a 5.5 inched display.

The two phones are all set to come out into the markets with a build similar to previous year.

However, Google is tipped to reduce the size of the trademark glass panel on the back of the phone, so that it now sits above the circular rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

As far as the camera hardware is concerned, Google has reportedly made a decision to keep a single primary snapper on the back with dual-tone LED flash, EIS (Electronics Image Stabilisation) for enhanced low-light images.

The Kinda Blue variant is expected to be a limited edition, similar to the blue Pixel phone past year. Those among us who have used Android for years will know wireless charging has been around for some time, and this year, Google might emphasise a move towards this technology. The feature is rumored to be called Active Edge.

Users will be able to talk to the assistant to get news and weather updates, add items to a calendar, translate phrases into different languages, convert measurements, and answer any pressing general knowledge questions.

Nonetheless, some reports have suggested that the Pixel 2 XL will feature a curved display, and this will allow the manufacturer to cut down on unsightly bezels.

Google's 4th October Event: New Pixel Phones, Speakers To Launch

Google is widely-tipped to drop the 3.5mm headphone port in favour of USB Type-C headphones on its next Pixel smartphone.

There have been conflicting reports on the presence of the headphone jack, while some suggest that Google is ditching the port in both phones, others differ.

The headline devices are likely to be the new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, sequels to the first smartphones Google designed itself in-house, which it released past year.

Water resistance has nearly become standard across flagship smartphones and it'd be nice to see Google join the fray this year.

Details to Google Pixel 2 will be unveiled on october 4, the company confirmed.

Google's teaser also indicates that the Pixel successors will come with a boatload of upgrades in terms of internal hardware and improvement to Google Assistant user-experience. Google's biggest USP past year was the incredible camera on the Google Pixel and with the Google Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL, the company intends to take this to the next level.

That increases to $949 for the 128GB model. Certainly such screen technology is becoming increasingly important, and this could be a major fillip for Google in establishing the Pixel 2 XL as a premium phablet.

Google is expected to show off a bunch of new hardware at its annual event this Wednesday, October 4th, but we're most excited about the idea of new Pixel phones, which we often credit with having the best smartphone camera.
