The British PM Theresa May has scheduled a meeting with business leaders on Monday to restore confidence in them that the Brexit process is on its path, following a discolored week of her headship.

A business meeting that is going to take place on Monday at May's Downing Street Office move towards as British and European Union negotiators continue talks in Brussels keeping the expectations of a breakthrough in the Brexit discussions.

She will also implicitly warn of the risk of talks breaking down, calling for both sides to be constructive and "prove the doomsayers wrong".

Mrs May will make a statement to MP's in the House of Commons to update them on her speech in Florence which was welcomed by European Union leaders.

The EU and the United Kingdom will meet for the fifth round of Brexit negotiations on Monday.

Progress is needed on three key issues - the divorce bill, citizens' rights and the border between the UK and Republic of Ireland - before talks can move on to post-Brexit relationship issues, such as UK-EU trade.

'I believe we can seize the opportunities of this defining moment in the history of our nation'.

The embattled May is set to tell parliament on Monday that she expects "leadership and flexibility" from the other 27 European Union countries in the negotiations.

'And as we look forward to the next stage, the ball is in their court.

Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Commission president, said last month that it would take a "miracle" if talks are to progress to trade, while the European Parliament passed a non-binding motion declaring that more needs to be done. According to her, they are working hard to attain the status of the free-trading nation and she is very much optimistic about it. The representatives of the council include the big business chiefs like HSBC, Morgan Stanley, Aston Martin and Vodafone.

If they fail to agree then, the next chance will not be until a summit in December, with the clock ticking to reach a final deal before Britain formally leaves the bloc on March 29, 2019.

He said: "The Prime Minister should use the authority of her office to impose what she wants on the Cabinet".

He said: "I think, frankly, the party needs to get a grip and get on with it, and stop being so beastly self-indulgent".
