Nintendo consoles can be notoriously hard to find, and the Switch's enormous popularity has made it no exception to this rule.

Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima said during the company's recent earnings call that they have increased Switch shipment projections for the fiscal year from 10 million units to 14 million units.

Demand for Nintendo Switch remains high, but supply shortages have proven to be a problem since launch.

The meeting would be arranged "in Pakistan, purely on humanitarian grounds ", the statement said without giving further details. India had many times requested a Pakistani visa for Jadhav's mother, Avantika, who wished to meet her son in Pakistan prison.

Since its launch earlier this year, the Nintendo Switch has steadily grown its audience with over 7.5 million systems shipped, and next year the company might be gearing up for a big push to growing that audience even more.

Sources who supposedly have "direct knowledge" of Nintendo's plans informed the Wall Street Journal that the company is aiming to produce 25 to 30 million Switches during the fiscal year running from April 2018 to March 2019.

Depending on how sales go this holiday season, Nintendo could aim even higher, the people said. The above shows an overlay of sell-through figures together with Wii and Wii U data for the first years after release. If the Switch does keep on its current pace, it could easily surpass the original Wii. Nomura Securities analyst Junko Yamamura, the outlet says, predicts the console will sell "115.8 million units by March 2023". Nintendo sold just over 100 million Wiis over the console's lifetime.
