"Savage" New Lotus Exige Cup 430 revealed

Lotus Exige Cup 430 Lotus Exige Cup 430 Is The Meanest Exige To Date

Another day, another extreme lightweight Lotus sports vehicle has been revealed. The only transmission available for the Exige Cup 430? Thanks to a new spoiler on that rear clam and a reprofiled splitter on the front one (amongst numerous other tweaks), the Exige Cup 430 produces a maximum of 220kg of downforce. This is the new Exige 430 Cup: Unlimited Edition, which the Hethel-based company says is the "most extreme Exige ever conceived". Yep, faster even than the road-going version of the 3-Eleven, by an impressive 1.2 second margin. Indeed if you really want to you can delete the airbag and save another 3kg, for a lightest dry weight of 1,056kg. In its lightest configuration, the vehicle weighs just 1,056 kg.

Power comes courtesy of the same supercharged 3.5-liter Toyota V6 found in Exige 380, but as the name suggests, output has been amplified from 380 horsepower (283 kilowatts) up to 430 horsepower (320 kilowatts).

Providing extra stopping power are forged four-piston AP Racing brake calipers and performance two-piece J-hook brake discs, which are some of the largest calipers and rotors of any Lotus road auto.

Thankfully, among the car's standard features are a roll cage, harness-style seatbelts and fixed towing hooks front and rear for those moments when exuberance takes over and the vehicle leaves the track. Thanks to these two factors plus the extra power, the 430 is fastest production vehicle to ever lap the Hethel test track.

Australia on verge of Pacific trade deal
He said Japan, as co-chair of TPP meetings taking place alongside the APEC summit, hopes to achieve a "basic agreement". The logic for a deal remains compelling, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said November 4.

"This is the vehicle that we have always wanted to build, and I am sure that all Lotus enthusiasts will be delighted with the end product", said CEO Jean-Marc Gales.

While road-legal in Europe and Asia, the Exige Cup 430 is a track auto at heart, featuring such essentials as Eibach's adjustable anti-roll bars, Nitron's springs and three-way adjustable dampers ( with 24 click adjustment settings for rebound, 24 for low speed compression, and 16 for high speed compression).

"This auto has no rivals - inside or outside of its price bracket - and it's no exaggeration when we say that nothing can keep up with this Exige on the road or track". That time was 2014, and since then we've had a Cup 360 (with 360hp), a Cup 380 (go on, guess), plus all the accompanying Exige Sport models, and now there's this: the Exige Cup 430. Prices start at 99,800 GBP ($130,967) but no word on USA availability.
