Former Vice President Joe Biden stopped by Today on Monday morning where he once again refused to rule out a 2020 presidential run, reasoning, "I'm not closing the door... And I'd much prefer to be helping someone turn it around than being the guy trying to turn it around", Biden said in an interview with Snapchat's "Good Luck America", according to The Associated Press, which was given a clip of the exchange.

"I honest to God haven't made up my mind about that", he said.

"No, no, I'm not closing the door", Biden replied. The painful subject forms the story of his new memoir, 'Promise Me, Dad, ' set for release this week.

Biden made the comments while promoting a new book, "Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship and goal".

"I'm a great respecter of fate, but who knows what the situation is going to be in a year-and-a-half?"

A speech was drafted declaring his intention to run in late summer 2015, NBC reported Sunday, though Biden ended up announcing that October that he would not.

He was asked about former Democratic National Committee chair Donna Brazile's book, which says she considered replacing Clinton with Biden because of health concerns.

"I give you my word, the first time I or any of my staff heard about of anything about that was in the book, " he said.

Feldman also said Biden would likely face plenty of opposition from other Democratic candidates who are ready and willing to take on Donald Trump in 2020. I was for Hillary.

"She would have been a first-rate president, and at that point I had made the judgment well before that that I was not prepared to run for president".

"I've done it a long time", said Biden, who previously ran for president in 1988 and 2008, "and I'm just not sure it's the appropriate thing for me to do". "I think we have to respond and let them know there's significant hope".

Kasich, who has been an outspoken opponent of Trump's since he challenged him for the Republican nomination in 2016, declined to address his own 2020 plans.
