Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell will likely miss several games with a left knee injury, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Russell grimaced as he hobbled to the bench.

Russell, 21, is having a fine debut season with the Nets. However, he had looked much better during his last handful of outings.

The Nets are underdogs in their next three home contests against the Boston Celtics, Jazz and the Golden State Warriors before they head on the road to face Cleveland. In the season opener, Jeremy Lin tore the patella tendon in his right knee and underwent season-ending surgery. The 2015 No. 2 overall pick averaged 15.6 points and 4.8 assists per game and shot 35.2 percent from three-point range. He will undergo further evaluation soon, league sources said.

The Washington Redskins again found a way to not reward their fans at home in another loss at FedEx Field. Keenum finished the contest with 27 completions for 288 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

Russell joined Brooklyn, along with Timofey Mozgov, in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers in June for Brook Lopez and a first-round draft pick. He also had another 22-point outing a couple games later while Russell was still struggling.

The team did not say how many games Russell would miss.
