The 29-year-old has gone through a workout with Seattle on Monday morning prior to re-signing with the team.

Maxwell is expected to fill a void for the Seahawks at the cornerback position, as Seattle lost star corner Richard Sherman to a ruptured Achilles on Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Maxwell (41) is called for pass interference on New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall (15) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on November 6, 2016.

Maxwell, out of Clemson, was drafted in 2011 by the Seahawks with the No. 173 overall pick.

Corn, Soybean Harvest: Better Late Than Never
The most active soybean futures were little changed at $9.86-3/4 a bushel, after firming 0.2 percent on Friday. December wheat delivery fell 7.25 cents, or 1.68 percent, to 4.2425 dollars per bushel.

But Maxwell lasted only one season in Philadelphia, shipped off to Miami along with Kiko Alonso in what amounted to salary dumps. However, Maxwell was then released by the AFC East club in late October.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Seahawks have moved fast to bring back a familiar face to their secondary ahead of the Week 11 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. In his absence, the Seahawks went with Jeremy Lane for the rest of the game.

Maxwell excelled in Seattle's defensive system, which helped him get the lucrative contract from the Eagles in the 2015 offseason.

Seattle formally announced Maxwell's signing Tuesday and placed Sherman on injured reserve.
