Time magazine has named "The Silence Breakers" as the 2017 Person of the Year.

The #MeToo movement won recognition as Time's 2017 Person of the Year, announced on NBC's Today Show on Wednesday morning.

It's a recognition of the cultural reckoning this year and the #MeToo movement, which represents the people, mostly women, who have fueled a worldwide discussion about sexual harassment and assault.

The #MeToo movement came in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment and assault by film producer Harvey Weinstein, whose accusers include McGowan and Judd.

Last week, former TODAY anchor Matt Lauer was also accused of sexual misconduct.

Ashes 2017/18, 2nd Test: Hits and misses
Spinner Nathan Lyon told Channel Nine the team is full of confidence heading into the third Test in Perth next week. That left England lurching towards defeat on 188 for seven after 45 minutes of play on the final day.

Trump, Former NFL player Colin Kaepernick, Amazon head Jeff Bezos, Kim Jong-un, the dreamers and former Federal Bureau of Investigation director Robert Mueller, were also on the shortlist for the award as the company states the person of the year is "for good or ill".

Felsenthal called the hashtag "a powerful accelerant" that has been used millions of times in at least 85 countries. The Plaza Hotel Plaintiffs (a group of seven women who filed a sexual-harassment suit against the hotel) were also named by the magazine as "silence breakers".

Swift spoke with the magazine about the lawsuit she won for a symbolic $1 against former Denver radio DJ David Mueller, who was sacked after reaching under her skirt and grabbing her butt. He tweeted last month that he was "probably" going to be given the title, adding that he "took a pass" because he would have had to agree to an interview and a photo shoot.

TIME magazine picks its Person of the Year on an individual or group of people who the magazine's editors believe have most influenced news and events of the past year, "for good or ill". "I was angry. In that moment, I chose to forego any courtroom formalities and just answer the questions the way it happened. Why should I be polite?" Kelly has said she was sexually harassed by her former Fox News boss Roger Ailes.

"I always thought maybe things could change for my daughter. Never", Kelly told TIME. What if we did complain? O'Reilly said he didn't know of any complaint by Kelly.
