It's confirmed then - Yerry Mina will be Barcelona's second signing of the January transfer window after they signed Philippe Coutinho for a record £142m.

Barcelona has not yet announced the agenda of the events in which Yerry Mina will participate.

The Colombian attracted Barcelona following his stellar performances for his club, having helped Brazilian outfit Palmeiras to the Brasileiro Serie A title in 2016.

He also has nine caps for Colombia and is expected to be part of the squad that travels to Russian Federation in the summer for the World Cup.

The 23-year-old moved to Spain on a five-and-a-half-year deal until 2023 with a release clause of €100 million ($120.3 million) on Thursday, reports Efe. The long-term aim for the Colombian is to partner Umtiti for years to come, as Gerard Pique nears the twilight of his career. He often makes runs forward and is risky in the box thanks to his vertical reach. The young star also won the Copa Sudamericana with former club Santa Fe.

Mina isn't on the same level in terms of transfer fee, though. He missed part of last season because of a serious foot injury with Palmeiras.

Barca are running away with La Liga and already lead by nine points.
