Logan Paul Punished by YouTube for Controversial Video

YouTube Pares Back Logan Paul Partnership After Suicide Video Post YouTube Cuts Business Ties With Social Media Star Logan Paul After Suicide Video Controversy

YouTube initially released a statement about the suicide forest video after it was uploaded and taken down, sending sympathy to the family of the loved one who committed suicide and was featured in Logan Paul's vlog.

In the video, Paul - whose other videos from Japan showed him throwing Pokemon balls at strangers and waving dead fist at passers-by - is seen discovering a hanging corpse in the forest.

This week, Google finally announced its decision to drop Paul from Google Preferred, which is "a special advertising program that connects top channels with brand advertisers, and from Foursome, a series on YouTube Red, the streaming service's premium subscription service", according to USA Today.

Almost a day after the tweeted response, YouTube has announced it is removing Logan's channels from Google Preferred and will not feature Logan in the Web series Foursome.

YouTube has chosen to police its creators more than ever before after last year's ad-pocalypse, which began as advertisers pulled their ads from YouTube after learning some ran in front of extremist and offensive content.

YouTube is pressing pause on business ties and upcoming projects with disgraced vlogger Logan Paul. "Many of you have been frustrated with our lack of communication recently", the service wrote.

Paul is one of YouTube's most popular contest creators, with more than 15 million subscribers. After Mr. Paul's post, many people began criticizing YouTube for not taking any action against him.

Now Google is also planning to spend extra efforts vetting those videos as a response to advertisers who expressed concerns about the content in the videos as well as Paul's video, Bloomberg News reported.

The video, posted on December 31, was titled "We found a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest..." and included Paul shouting "Yo, are you alive?" If he received three strikes in a three-month period, his account will be terminated.

YouTube issued its original statement above, and, a few days later, the company said it was looking into "further consequences" for Paul.

But YouTube's Twitter remarks aren't the only thing Paul will have to deal with.

YouTube acknowledged that it had taken a long time to respond, but said they had been listening to everyone's comments.
