Queen Elizabeth's bra specialist loses job after publishing tell-all book

Queen's Elizabeth's favored bra shop loses privileges over former owner's book Queen's bra-fitter stripped of royal title after 'tell-all' book

The upmarket underwear company that supplied lingerie to the Queen had its warrant scrapped after a tell-all book gave details of royal fittings.

Mrs Kenton wrote about Princess Diana's bra fittings, adding that she would accept posters of lingerie and swimwear models for sons William and Harry to put up at their Eton digs.

Among other things, June Kenton's "Storm in a D Cup" revealed details of the Queen's private fittings and Kenton's interactions with Princess Diana.

The book came out in March of past year, but now Her Majesty has responded definitively (if not swiftly) by revoking the lingerie supplier's royal warrant.

Buckingham Palace said it not "comment on individual companies".

June Kenton and her husband bought the brand in 1982 for £20,000 but a Belgian brand bought a majority stake in 2011.

Kenton then sold her stake for £8 million ($10.8 million) in 2007, but she remained a member of the board and continued to fit the Queen's bras at Buckingham Palace.

It was revealed on Tuesday her company lost the royal warrant that it had held since 1960 because she wrote about fitting the Queen, detailing she was half-dressed at the time and that the fitting was carried out in front of her dogs.

The Royal Warrant Holders Association diligently catalogs these esteemed businesses: Burberry, for example, serves as the Queen's official weatherproofers, while Hunter supplies waterproof footwear (aka Wellies). The company has held a royal warrant since in 1960.

However, an apology is simply not good enough for the queen and the luxury brand reportedly received a letter from the Lord Chamberlain asking the brand to remove the royal coat of arms from any promotional material and shop signs. "I just think the world of them".

She went on: "I've been honourable throughout my life - it's unbelievable they don't like the book, there's nothing in it that they could remotely be upset about".

"I only ever said I went there [to Buckingham Palace], not what happened", the BBC quoted her as saying.

"I'm coming towards the end of my life, I'm 82, so it is what it is, there is nothing I can do".

"I recognised the swimsuits in photos of her on that last fateful yachting trip with Dodi Fayed".

"I never ever thought when I was writing the book that it would upset anyone", Kenton, now in her 80s, told The Telegraph.

Harrods chose not to apply to have their warrant renewed in 2000 when Mohamed al-Fayed made a decision to end the store's links to the royal family following the death of his son, Dodi, and Princess Diana.
