Spokesman of the coalition forces in support of legitimacy in Yemen, Colonel Turki Saleh Al Maliki said that 16 air, sea and land relief outlets in Yemen are open to global organisations and donor countries to receive aid and enter the Yemeni territories.

The Saudi-led coalition intervened in the Yemen war in March 2015 to try to restore President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi to power after the Houthis, backed by Saleh's supporters, forced him into exile.

Yemen lies beside the southern mouth of the Red Sea, one of the most important trade routes in the world for oil tankers, which pass near Yemen's shores while heading from the Middle East through the Suez Canal to Europe.

The Houthi forces in Yemen announced that their rocket battalion fired a short-range missile towards a Saudi military base in the Najran Region of Saudi Arabia, reported the al-Masdar News.

Al Maliki said the Houthi terrorist group is training its personnel to attack ships, destroyers and aircraft carriers, and to target maritime traffic.

Holiday retail sales rise 5.5 percent, way above forecast
The federal government also revised its November estimates upward to 0.9% growth over October, from 0.8%. Overall though, the IHS said the holiday sales lifts its outlook for the fourth quarter.

Iran-backed Huthi rebels, who are locked in a war with Yemen's Saudi-backed government, said they shot down the plane over Saada, their northern Yemeni stronghold, according to their Al-Masirah television channel.

Despite the coalition's superior firepower, the rebels still control the capital and much of north Yemen.

"These (missile launch) are aimed at threatening the security of not only Saudi Arabia but also the region and the world as firing of ballistic missiles targeting densely populated cities and villages is contrary to global humanitarian law", he said in Riyadh.

More than 8,750 people have died in the war and the country is facing what the United Nations has described as the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
