Leonardo DiCaprio has accepted a starring role in Quentin Tarantino's ninth film as director, and is expected to close the deal soon, according to Deadline. Tarantino has been on a kick recently of creating films set in the past, with his own very bloody twist and tone added to them.

The film is set in Los Angeles in the 1960s and '70s and is believed to involve the actress and model Sharon Tate, who was murdered by members of Charles Manson's notorious "family" in 1969.

The rain triggered massive mudslides . "This looks photoshopped", DeGeneres says showing the photo on the screen behind her. Our hearts go out to DeGeneres. "In addition to what's going on in Montecito , I lost my dad this week", DeGeneres said.

If the rumors are anything to go by, then this movie might not just have DiCaprio, but an star-studded ensemble. Margot Robbie has reportedly been asked to play Tate, and Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt may have big roles in the undoubtedly gruesome film. The publication claims that Leonardo will play an aging actor in a film which Quentin describes as a movie similar to Pulp Fiction. The film may not have a title yet, but its release date is significant as it falls on the 50th anniversary of the murder of Sharon Tate by the Mason family. Variety also reports that Tarantino wants Al Pacino for a role as well. It will be DiCaprio's first major role since winning an Oscar for The Revenant (holy shit, remember The Revenant?), and his second collaboration with Tarantino, following Django Unchained.

David Heyman from Harry Potter-fame will produce the film as well as Tarantino himself, Georgia Kacandes, and Shannon McIntosh. With Leonard DiCpario onboard and other A-list actors name's attached to the project, this one is shaping up to be another unmissable movie. It was widely reported that Tarantino had initially wanted DiCaprio to play Col. Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds.
