More 'share the moment' as Snap cuts dozens of jobs

Snap confirms reports of up to 24 redundancies in a bid to 'scale internally' Snap lays off 22 employees amid content team restructure: Reports

Snap Inc., the Los Angeles-based developer of the image messaging and mobile app Snapchat, laid off about two dozen of its workers in NY and London, CNBC reports, citing video news network Cheddar. Snap subsequently confirmed the layoffs to Cheddar on Thursday.

In early January, Snapchat users reacted negatively to changes made in a redesign. Of course, the anti-leaking memo then leaked. Most Snap employees don't know when a new product is coming - regardless if it would affect their team's long-term metrics or goals.

"If you leak Snap Inc. information, you will lose your job and we will pursue any and all legal remedies against you", O'Sullivan wrote. "The government, our investors, and other third parties can also seek their own remedies against you for what you disclosed".

During the company's earnings call in November 2017, Spiegel said Snapchat is working on introducing a major redesign, making the application much easier to understand. "The government can even put you in jail". You can face personal financial liability even if you yourself did not benefit from the leaked information.

Egypt committed to declaration of principles on Renaissance Dam, says Foreign Minister
Since May 2011, Cairo has voiced its concern over how the dam can reduce the country's annual share of more than 56 billion cubic meters of Nile water.

The data, not publicly disclosed by the company, covered April to September previous year. According to a Daily Beast report, the NY office has an entire banned floor that nearly all employees can not access; almost no one actually knows what goes on there.

Snap's CEO Evan Spiegel argued in a memo that the firm needed to grow thoughtfully to maximise productivity and not just blindly increase in size.

Snap Inc., the parent company of social video platform Snapchat, has let 22 employees go. Some of the metrics-including details on daily Snap Story usage and Snap Map usage-have declined in recent months, which is believed to be the reason Spiegel announced a sweeping redesign late a year ago.
