Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jordan's King Abdullah II exchanged Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both countries on Cooperation in the Field of Manpower in the national capital on Thursday.

India and Jordan on Thursday chose to upgrade their relationship by signing 12 agreements and MoUs to promote engagements in the fields of defence, counter-terrorism, military studies, cyber security, culture, medical services and peace keeping.

Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Sheikh Ahmed stressed the historical relationship between Jordan and India, which is based on pluralistic values in which both countries believe.

The prime minister hailed Jordan as a "holy land from where God's message reached the world", noting that India is keen to work with Jordan, His Majesty and communities from all religions to highlight the right path for humanity.

India and Jordan started a cyber security dialogue in July 2017, and want to take it further.

"Because of the uncertainty in the region, Jordan also is looking for stable partners and it finds the Indian model attractive", Sajjanhar said. "We take pride here in our incredible diversity", said the PM.

"We have many challenges ahead of us, and it is more important that people of different cultures and different backgrounds energize each other and come closer together, and I believe that our two-day visit here in India will be the new start of a relationship between our two countries", King Abdullah said.
