Does 'A Wrinkle In Time' Have a Post-Credits Scene?

Oprah Winfrey ava duvernay The Biggest Challenges in Making A WRINKLE IN TIME

If all you want to know is whether I liked this movie or not, the answer is: no, I did not.

I couldn't help but think that the movie had much more star-wattage in its cast than in the narrative - that can happen when Oprah Winfrey plays a literally larger-than-life, lit-from-within star-rider. Based on Madeleine L'Engle's wildly popular fantasy novel, released under the Disney banner, and directed by the exceptionally talented Ava DuVernay (Selma, I Will Follow, The 13th), A Wrinkle In Time is a floppy, empty, vague effort that smothers us with hippie-bumper-sticker speak about light and dark, believing in yourself, and not conforming to what others expect of you.

Jennifer Lee and Jeff Stockwell have adapted what has been considered an "unfilmable" book, and keeping the story simple, and earnest, is the necessary foundation for the fantastical set pieces that DuVernay crafts.

Kids learn a lot from film and TV, which is why representation is so important and why the empowering message in "A Wrinkle in Time" is so vital for children today.

Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay were already well acquainted with one another prior to the production of A Wrinkle in Time.

DuVernay got a $100 million budget for the movie, making her the first black woman to direct a live-action film with coffers that large. The new-age crap quotient borders on intolerable. Both she and brother Charles Wallace (McCabe) share the same gifts.

Meg finds out that in trying to "shake hands with the universe", her father discovered a tesseract, a way to bend space and time in order to travel to other dimensions. There's also a gorgeous new song by Sade featured in the film, but it just made me go, "OMG, Sade!" and completely took me out of the moment.

Supreme Court allows Passive Euthanasia
The five-judge Constitution bench headed by the Chief Justice of India said, "human beings have a right to die with dignity". While the Centre was in agreement on the question of allowing passive euthanasia , it opposed the concept of living will .

Taylor later explained why she chose to raise that money.

But back to those astral travelers: Mrs. Rather than regarding Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon) with amicable hospitality, Meg's mother now demands to know why there's a unusual redhead wearing bedsheets in her living room. It's nearly laughably appropriate casting for Winfrey, who embodies the wise, godlike presence Mrs.

A positive thing about the film according to critics is the cast.

They are also adorned in dazzling outfits of bright colors and jewels and oversized fabrics that make it look like they came from a festival somewhere between Carnival in Rio and Fat Tuesday in New Orleans. Its biggest lesson isn't about overcoming flaws but about learning to embrace them and feel good about who you are.

"This was a film for young people, and people who are young at heart!" A Wrinkle in Time makes some really drastic swings from boring and unwatchable to really compelling to just sort of there.

"These are big issues that we put in a small, kid-like manner in the film, but hopefully they plant seeds with this generation". Though in this case, I wonder if reading the book would have helped give me a better sense of what the movie was working with. Sometimes you have too much material to work with. After revealing that she had raised $50,000, the mogul said, "I'm going to match your $50,000..." I've never read the novel, but I have no trouble believing that it carries an emotional and dramatic resonance that the film version is sadly lacking.
