After rekindling their hopes of making the final with a convincing 5-1 win against Malaysia in their previous match, India looked for another win on the trot and got off to a start that reflected their intent.

Though India conceded a goal in the 48th minute, the team's defence remained resolute through the match restricting the number of circle entries Ireland made to 18 and denied them potential shots on goal.

India began strongly and earned back-to-back penalty corners in the fifth minute.

England had beaten Malaysia 7-2 on Friday to secure their place in the final against an Australia side that had beaten England 4-1 earlier in the competition.

Ramandeep Singh (10 minute) and Amit Rohidas (26th) scored for India while Shane O'Donoghue (24th), Sean Murray (36th) and Lee Cole (42th) struck for Ireland. Ramandeep, after injecting, snuck from behind the Irish defenders and deflected Varun Kumar's flick inside the cage as India finished the first quarter with a 1-0 lead.

Mitton came close moments later, before Kleinschmidt levelled in the 25th minute with a reflex finish after Dylan Wotherspoon's baseline run forced a save from Argentine keeper Juan Vivaldi.

Browns Trading Defensive Tackle Danny Shelton to Patriots
Shelton was a first-round draft selection by the Browns in 2014 as a run-stopping nose tackle out of the University of Washington. Shelton joins Malcom Brown , Lawrence Guy , Adam Butler and Vincent Valentine on the Patriots' defensive tackle depth chart.

Soon enough, Varun got another chance from the penalty corner to double India's lead but this time the dragflicker failed to get his shot on target.

Ireland played a much more aggresive game in the second quarter and were awarded a penalty corner for their efforts only for the decision to be overturned after India asked for a video referral.

IT HAPPENED Ireland came back twice from a goal down to record their first ever win over India.

With time ticking away, India pulled out their goalkeeper to add an extra man to their attack. It was an infringement on Ireland's part when Simranjeet Singh was attempting a shot on goal that resulted in the penalty corner.

Australia won their game against Ireland with some ease and were 2-0 up after just 14 minutes with Jake Whetton scoring from play and Daniel Beale extending the lead three minutes later.
