World No. 1 Roger Federer owned a one-set lead and with the second set tied at 2-2 against Federico Delbonis in his opening match Saturday at the Indian Wells ATP Masters before the match was suspended due to rain.

"I didn't come here to lose in the first round two and two", Federer told reporters.

A five-time champion here in the desert had to play for two days to complete the win after the match was halted due to rain on Saturday night with Roger leading 6-3 2-2.

After winning the BNP Paribas Open previous year, Federer must make the semi-finals of the tournament to retain his number one ranking, ahead of Rafael Nadal.
