Former Beaufort standout released by Chiefs

Report: Chiefs release veteran OLB Tamba Hali REPORT: Chiefs set to release Tamba Hali

Parker was also released, saving the Chiefs $5 million against the 2018 salary cap.

Letting go of Hali and Parker fall in line as the Kansas City Chiefs have let go of other players so far this offseason like Derrick Johnson, Darrell Revis, and have traded away quaterback Alex Smith and cornerback Marcus Peters.

The Chiefs asked Parker to take a pay cut but he declined, according to ESPN. It would be interesting to know exactly how cheap the Chiefs wanted Parker to go, but Parker and his representation clearly believe he will be just fine. However, he was released by the Seahawks before the 2011-12 campaign began and landed with the Oakland Raiders. Parker has been a mainstay in the Chiefs secondary since back in 2013.

Clinton on Trump-Putin ties
During the event over the weekend, Clinton added that she doesn't believe America deserved to have Trump as a president. "No, we didn't deserve that", Clinton said.

Hali made five straight Pro Bowls from 2011 to 2015 and his 89.5 sacks are second to Derrick Thomas in team history. It would be a move that paid dividends for the next half-decade as Parker established himself as a versatile contributor who could play inside as nickel corner or slotted next to Eric Berry at safety.

Hali dealt with knee issues last season and appeared in a career-low five games, recording one tackle.
