Cricket SA (CSA) and Kagiso Rabada will seek legal advice after the Proteas fast bowler on Monday was suspended for the final two Tests of South Africa's Test series against Australia.

Rabada already had five demerit points on his record, and the three-point penalty for the offence means he incurs an automatic two-match ban.

With the three demerit points, he has now accumulated eight demerit points within a two year period which results to a two match suspension. "Australia are going to have times when they put you under pressure and we absorbed brilliantly with Dean and Hashim, making sure the bowlers stay out there and bowl third and fourth spells", du Plessis said.

"It is also disappointing that this has happened the day after the pre-match meeting I had with both teams‚ where the importance of respect for opponents was highlighted".

The express paceman was found guilty of inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with Steve Smith in Port Elizabeth, having brushed the batsman's shoulder in a send-off.

"I don't know what I'm thinking‚ actually‚" he said. I think that showed today.

"It's bittersweet. I would have loved to have been playing the next game", Rabada said.

Warner committed a level-two offence in the first Test. I was just flat, physically and mentally.

There is a school of thought that Morkel would have played at Newlands anyway given the nature of the wicket, coming back into the side for Lungi Ngidi who replaced him for the second test. "I am really looking forward to see what he is going to do for the rest of the series". So, as local team South Africa started the Test series but at the inaugural Test, Australia won against Proteas by 118 runs at Durban and so, the guest team is now leading the tournament.

"Our plan for him was to play a game".

"I've let myself down and let the team down", Rabada said. "I am not happy about it but time moves on", he told reporters on Monday.

It's early days yet in Rabada's career but in all the 2 298 tests played‚ only Sydney Barnes‚ Clarrie Grimmett and Muttiah Muralitharan have taken a higher percentage of 10-fers measured against matches played.

During the recently-concluded India series, visiting captain Virat Kohli was seen after virtually every wicket giving South African players "send-offs", but no action was taken. You don't want to roll over.

Steyn's recent injury woe has means he has played one test in nearly 18 months and he did not get through that one.

Australia had started the morning on 180 for 5, leading by 41 runs and desperately needing some strong fight from the tail in order to set South Africa a vaguely competitive target.
