In court files authorities say Hari, McWhorter and Morris were responsible for the bombing of a mosque in Bloomington, Minn., on August 5, 2017, and the attempted bombing of the Women's Health Practice in Champaign, Ill., on November 7, 2017. McWhorter allegedly admitted his involvement in bombing the mosque and the attempt on the women's clinic, and told investigators that each of the three men had specific roles in the attack.

McWhorter allegedly told an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent during an interview that the three rented a pickup in Champaign and drove more than 500 miles (805 kilometers) to Minnesota with a plan to bomb the mosque, according to a criminal complaint.

"We would look at the wall as not just a physical barrier to immigration but also as a symbol of the American determination to defend our culture, our language, our heritage, from any outsiders", said Hari in an interview a year ago.

It wasn't clear from the complaint why the men may have targeted a mosque so far from IL.
