The Grammy-winning band Huey Lewis & The News has canceled all remaining performances in 2018 after Lewis revealed he has suffered hearing loss.

Lewis said his hearing loss has made lower frequencies "distort violently" so that he can't find pitch.

The 67-year-old rocker wrote on Twitter and on his website that he lost most of his hearing just before a show a few months ago and hasn't fully recovered.

Meniere's disease is described as an inner ear disorder sometimes caused by lack of fluid drainage, infection, migraines, head trauma or allergies, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Lewis says he's tried to find answers at the House Ear Institute, Stanford Ear Institute and Mayo Clinic.

'Consequences' for Syria strike: Russian Federation
However, speaking on Saturday morning, UK Prime Minister Theresa May said she was "confident" the strikes had been successful. It was not clear whether the presence of the investigators could affect the timing of any United States military action.

Lewis went on to explain that doctors believe he has "Meniere's disease", and said he should not perform until he improves. It's considered a chronic condition, but there are treatments to relieve symptoms.

He issued an apology to fans that he had to cancel all of his future shows. Lewis apologized to fans who've already bought tickets.

"I'm going to deal with getting greater and hope that sooner or later rapidly I'm going to be succesful to hold out as soon as extra".

Huey Lewis and the News has a big enough following and deep enough discography to prompt cover bands, perhaps the most notable being Sacramento-based SuperHuey. Two of their albums also hit the top spot, Sports (1983) and Fore!
