Winter weather advisory issued for parts of MA this weekend

A Winter Weather Advisory (purple-shaded area on highlighted map) has been issued for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry and Lake Counties in IL this Saturday evening, as temperatures have dropped to around 32-degrees and the wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow in southern Wisconsin has slipped south into the adjacent IL counties. The rain and freezing rain will come later.

As the low "gets close to Southern Ontario Saturday night, freezing rain is expected to move back in, and may persist well into Sunday before changing to rain, heavy at times", the warning continues. For greater Concord, freezing rain is in the forecast before 9 a.m. Monday. Snow accumulation Sunday night should be less than a half inch.

Heavy rain is expected for marathon Monday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., Dunham said, and the temperature will climb to the upper 40s by afternoon.
