Judge rules photographs of Kurt Cobain death scene will not be released

Frances Bean Cobain Courtney Love Hug Report: Frances Bean Cobain divorce settled; ex-husband gets to keep Unplugged guitar
Freda Brock | 16 May, 2018, 21:47

Having researched Kurt's death for years and even hosting a public access TV show about it, Lee sought access to the pictures under Washington State's Public Records Act.

Kurt Cobain committed suicide in April 1994, months after Nirvana's "MTV Unplugged" performance.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Frances Bean Cobain has reached a settlement over the division of property in her divorce from ex-husband Isaiah Silva.

Courtney Love countered this, telling reporters the guitar is "a treasured heirloom of the family...it's not [Silva's] to take...."

Courtney Love, Cobain's widow, and daughter Frances Bean Cobain both filed testimonies to keep the photos from being published.

Frances denied the claim and requested the judge to keep the guitar within her family.

The rightful owner of the guitar has been a major point of contention throughout the two years of divorce proceedings.

The guitar is estimated to be worth millions of dollars and is said to be only one of 300 made at the time.

The loss of her father's guitar comes after Frances said she hoped the "In Bloom" singer would be proud of the person she has become.

Frances Bean Cobain, an artist whose mother is rocker Courtney Love, Wednesday Silva, lead singer for The Eeries, in an unpublicized ceremony on June 29, 2014, according to Cobain's divorce filing in early 2016.

"We're very close, and [Frances Bean] never planned on doing that".

In her motion filed that same year, Frances Bean wrote that "Releasing these photographs would physically endanger me and my mother".

Frances isn't walking away from the divorce empty-handed, however.

It has also been reported that Isaiah will have to fund his own legal bills, and ownership of the house they bought has been given to Frances.
