President Donald Trump listed a payment of more than $100,000 to his attorney Michael Cohen as a reimbursement to a third party, a revelation made in a 2017 financial disclosure form with the Office of Government Ethics.
Adult-film actress Stormy Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, said he's vetting claims of agreements between additional women and President Donald Trump's longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, involving hush-money payments.
Daniels claims she had an affair with Trump.
Also, Rudy Giuliani, recently named Trump's personal attorney, has said Trump reimbursed Cohen for the original $130,000 payment, which was made shortly before Trump's victory in the November 8, 2016 presidential election.
After being questioned by MSNBC's Ari Melber, Avenatti said the agreements with these women could "prove to be problematic" for Trump with regards to violating campaign finance laws, problems the Daniels payment is already creating for the president.
This year's report shows Trump paid Mr Cohen more than $100,000 for expenses incurred in 2016, although it does not specify the goal of the reimbursement.
"No president has been previously subject to any referral by [Office of Government Ethics] to DOJ as a result of having failed to report an item on their public financial disclosure report", said Virginia Canter, a former ethics official in the Clinton and Obama White Houses who is now with the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. "It appears that these funds may have replenished the account following the payment to Ms. Clifford", read a summary of findings from Avenatti and Associates.
Trump, his campaign and Cohen have all denied any wrongdoing.

He added: "I think they ( Israel ) are on the brink of making a decision about the Turkish ambassador in Jerusalem ". She was among at least eight Palestinians under the age of 18 who were killed in the protest on May 14 (Monday).
Michael Cohen had earlier said he gave up on the project in January 2016 after determining it "was not feasible for a variety of business reasons".
Later that week, the president said the newly hired Mr Giuliani needed time to "get his facts straight". He also said that the payments were larger than those made to Daniels.
Cohen's attorney, Steve Ryan, refused to discuss the $500,000 deposit when requested to do so by The Atlantic, but insisted it "wasn't a payment".
Cohen was the target of raids last month in an investigation by the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of NY, after a referral from Mueller. The report says Trump did not have to disclose the payment but is doing so "in the interest of transparency".
Shaub, who served as the ethics czar during President Barack Obama's second term, noted that Apol's letter to Rosenstein is tantamount to a "criminal referral". He also said Trump paid Cohen far more than $130,000 - Cohen received around $460,000 or $470,000, Giuliani said, which included "incidental expenses" that Cohen had incurred on Trump's behalf.
Citing the federal criminal investigation, Cohen this week told a NY court that he would refuse to testify, citing his right against self-incrimination - under the US Constitution's Fifth Amendment - in a lawsuit filed by Daniels seeking to have the non-disclosure agreement cancelled.
In his financial discloser form, Trump has listed assets of at least United States dollars 1.4 billion and income of more than USD 452 million.
