Body camera video of Brown's January arrest was released by the Milwaukee Police Department Wednesday, showing officers' unwarranted use of a stun gun on the National Basketball Association player.

Sterling Brown, a Milwaukee Bucks player, said the incident was "an attempt at police intimidation" and that it "shouldn't happen to anybody".

In a joint statement, the aldermen said they've introduced a file "to discuss and evaluate the current police policy and training as it relates to de-escalation, along with implicit and cultural bias".

In Milwaukee, there have been several recent protests over controversial police interactions with black people - including the deadly shooting of a 23-year-old in 2016. That stuck with him and made him realize the power and responsibility officers have.

"We're figuring out what we're gonna do". "You can't do that by yourself?"

The NBA player, who is the son of a retired IL police officer, was cited for a parking violation, and he played a game later that day with bruises on his face.

The 30-minute video begins with an officer asking Brown for his driver's license. "For what? I ain't did nothing", Brown responds.

Just before using the Taser, which emits an electrical shock, on Brown, officers had told him to remove his hands from his pockets.

Mayor Tom Barrett said the video portrayed a situation that needlessly escalated.

Trump Weighs Tariffs On Imported Cars

"The department conducted an investigation into the incident which revealed members acted inappropriately and those members were recently disciplined", Morales said, without taking questions.

"I will defend our officers when they are right and will admit when members of our organization are wrong", Morales said in the video.

Brown was arrested for resisting or obstructing an officer, but ultimately was only cited with a parking ticket. After Garner was killed in 2014 when police officers held him in a headlock in NY, players (including then-Bulls guard Derrick Rose) wore shirts that read "I Can't Breathe".

Brown said in his statement that, "Black men shouldn't have to have their guard up and instantly be on the defensive when seeing a police officer, but it's a reality and a real problem".

"With the national spotlight that is already on Milwaukee, and that will, I'm sure, grow.it's our honest hope that this moment in time, and the video, and everybody that sees it, that it helps to ignite a level of dialogue and discussion about police-community relations that we just have not had in the past, and also a level of change".

Police did not identify the races of the officers, but most of the officers in the video appeared to be white.

He released a statement on Twitter after the video was released.

Cognizant of that history, police officials reached out to multiple community leaders and politicians prior to the video's publication online, according to local media. "Sterling has our full support as he shares his story and takes action to provide accountability", it said. "But then I thought, 'He's being an ass".

"And now he's like, 'I'm a Bucks player, blah, blah, blah.' So what", the officer says.
