The journey from Kazakhstan to the orbiting laboratory is expected to take two days with the trio set to make it by Friday morning.

In a national survey of 2,541 US adults conducted March 27-April 9, 2018, roughly seven-in-ten Americans (72%) say it is essential for the U.S.to continue to be a world leader in space exploration.

When asked to rate the importance of nine specific missions found in NASA's diverse portfolio, majorities say monitoring key parts of the Earth's climate system or monitoring asteroids and other objects that could hit Earth should be top priorities for NASA (63% and 62% respectively).

Bridenstine also said his top two priorities were the resumption of human spaceflight from the US -since 2011, American astronauts have relied on Russian transportation to get to the ISS-and going back to the Moon with the help of a new, nearby outpost that could ferry supplies there.

"Strong public support that the USA should continue to be at the vanguard of space exploration is widely shared across gender, educational and political groups".

However, it will still be supported with post-launch content that should keep players occupied after its initial release. The new game will drop on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC this November 13.

Only about 7 percent of Americans surveyed said they payed close attention to space news, hearing "a lot" about NASA and commercial space in the past year. A third (33 percent) do think that these private companies could advance the industry even without the agency.

Although the media seems infatuated with private companies like Musk's SpaceX, Americans remain traditionally confident in NASA.

A faster 4-orbit/6-hour or a 2-orbit/3-hour journey is usually possible, but space station positioning requirements to ensure a daytime landing for the departing Soyuz MS-07 crew earlier in the week prevented the possibility of a quicker trip for the new crew, SpaceFlight.com reported.

Forty-one percent of Americans think developing technologies that could be adapted for other uses to be important, but of lower priority.
