Prince Harry and his new wife, the former actress Meghan Markle, joined the pageantry of the annual Trooping the Color ceremony Saturday in London to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's official birthday.

Trooping the Colour, staged every June by London's Horse Guards Parade, has commemorated the birthday of the sovereign for more than 250 years.

Prince Phillip, who was recently at Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding at St. George's Chapel, is instead spending the weekend privately.

Meghan is wearing a Carolina Herrera dress, a Philip Treacy hat, and Birks rings. He had a hip operation in April and retired from public life previous year.

As part of the Trooping the Colour celebrations, Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, three, joined the royal family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

Charanpreet Singh Lall, 22, was among more than 1,000 soldiers who participated in the ceremony attended by the Queen and members of the royal family, including the newly married Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
