North Korea said Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump had told leader Kim Jong Un that he meant to halt joint U.S.

"The two top leaders gladly accepted each other's invitation, convinced that it would serve as another important occasion for improved DPRK-US relations", the report added, using the official abbreviation for North Korea.

North Korean state news agency KCNA has celebrated the promise, reporting that Mr Kim demanded the urgent cessation of "irritating and hostile military actions" during the summit. "That's going to start very soon".

Trump on Kim: "A talented man who loves his country very much".

It said the two countries would co-operate towards "new relations", while the USA would provide "security guarantees" to North Korea.

"We can only determine the success of this meeting by the outcomes, and that will take some time", she said.

Elias-Fatile stated that the meeting which resulted to the signing of a statement by the two leaders emphasised the establishment of new relationship between them.

Who gained and who lost what from the Trump-Kim summit
It may not have been the focus of the summit, but Korean War vets and their families were hoping the issue would come up. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has Koreans in Spokane closely watching the outcome.

Trudeau has offered support for Trump's discussions with Kim, but has steadfastly declined to weigh in on the president's fulsome praise of the North Korean leader and the intensifying verbal barbs thrown in his direction.

"North Korea has committed to a complete denuclearisation". They discussed Singapore-North Korea relations and developments on the Korean peninsula amidst Kim thanking the Singaporean premier for hosting the summit.

"We will be stopping the war games which will save us a tremendous amount of money, unless and until we see the future negotiation is not going along like it should".

Trump called the exercises "very provocative" and "inappropriate" in light of the optimistic opening he sees with North Korea.

Kim had already surprised many observers with shrewd strategic manoeuvring before the talks and the Singapore summit only burnished that reputation.

"We overcame all kinds of skepticism and speculations about this summit", Kim said, "and I believe that this is good prelude for peace". "The United States and North Korea have been in a state of antagonism for more than half a century", China's foreign minister told reporters in Beijing after the Trump-Kim summit.

Kim has framed the switch as a natural next step now that he has what he stresses is a credible and viable nuclear arsenal capable of keeping the U.S.at bay.

While North Korea has its own approaches to checking food quality, the United States utilizes a more reliable method. "It was a awful thing, it was brutal, but a lot of people started to focus on what was going on, including North Korea".

Mr Trump announced he would halt "very provocative" and expensive regular military exercises that the USA holds with South Korea.
