Trailing in the Republican congressional primary to an opponent supported in last-minute tweets by President Donald Trump, US Rep. Mark Sanford told supporters in SC on Tuesday night: "I'm going to lose this race".

Arrington spent her campaign calling Sanford a "Never Trumper". Scarborough noted that Sanford has said a number of critical statements about Trump in the past, so the MSNBC host flat out asked "Why don't we just say [the GOP] has devolved into a cult?" One ad said "it's time for Mark Sanford to take a hike - for real this time".

Trump, who issued his tweet as he returned from his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said Sanford "is better off in Argentina".

The President announced his last-minute endorsement of Arrington as the polls neared closing on Tuesday, and also criticized Sanford, who has served the state's First Congressional District in the House of Representatives since 2013. She is tough on crime and will continue our fight to lower taxes. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) race doesn't appear on our list of top-10 most competitive Senate races, but Senate Republicans were hoping to make it competitive by nominating the right candidate to take him on.

Arrington narrowly defeated Sanford after Trump tweeted that Sanford had been unhelpful, adding, "He is better off in Argentina".

Tuesday, Rep. Justin Amash, R-Mich., a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, had a stern answer to Trump's tweet.

South Carolina Rep. Katie Arrington, who is running for the first district of South Carolina, campaigns after voting in the primary election on June 12, 2018 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville, South Carolina. Despite the scandal over the affair, he completed his second term as governor, and voters sent him to Congress two years later.

Pope Francis will join the rally for the final two days, August 25-26, presiding over the final Mass in Dublin. Karadima's victims have long accused Barros of knowing about the abuse but saying and doing nothing about it.

In the Second Congressional District, incumbent Republican Rep. Scott Taylor will face the victor of the Democratic primary between former U.S. Navy commander Elaine Luria and schoolteacher Karen Mallard.

Gov. Henry McMaster is headed to a runoff in the GOP primary.

"I am extremely disappointed that a candidate like Corey Stewart could win the Republican nomination for US Senate", former Virginia Republican Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling tweeted.

In Democratic primaries - particularly three key House races in Virginia - the theme of this spring's primaries continued: Female candidates are winning at unprecedented rates and often by large margins. The second-term House member's district leans Republican, though Democrat Hillary Clinton received more votes there than Trump did in 2016. McMaster has been endorsed by Trump.

He was the top aide to Trump's presidential campaign in Virginia in 2016, but was sacked for staging an unauthorized protest of the Republican National Committee. Dean Heller. And in North Dakota, Republicans will pick Rep. Kevin Cramer to challenge Democratic Sen. This news site has written numerous articles over the years chronicling Sanford's unfortunate evolution into a shill for the #NeverTrump "Republican" establishment.

Stewart surprised many by almost winning last year's Republican nomination for governor.

Democrats will choose between two Clark County commissioners - Steve Sisolak, a moderate backed by former Sen. She will face another another woman, State Sen.
