A California hospital axed an emergency room doctor on Friday after she was caught on video ridiculing and cursing a Black patient who had a serious condition.

Samuel Bardwell, a newly enrolled college student at Saratoga, Calif. -based West Valley College, was brought to the hospital's ER June 11 after collapsing outside of the weight room during his first basketball practice.

"In the video, Keegstra scoffs at Donald Bardwell's assertion that his son was drifting "in and out of consciousness", and at one point she answers "Mm-hmm" when Samuel Bardwell asks her, "[So] I'm full of s-?"

His father filmed the physician in the Emergency Room who they identified as Dr. Beth Keegstray when he was seen at around 2:30 a.m.

"I guess she was so angry and assumed he was a druggie and had drugs in his system, she thought she could talk to us any which way we wanted", Bardwell told the San Francisco Gate.

"I'm sorry, sir, you were the least sick of all the people who are here, who are dying", the physician is heard in the video telling Bardwell, who apparently lifted his head to acknowledge the doctor.

"This week, a patient who visited the emergency department at our Los Gatos campus had an interaction with a physician whose demeanor was unprofessional and not the standard we require of all who provide care through El Camino Hospital", the statement reads. He said the doctor "has been removed from the work schedule, pending further investigation", and the hospital has "expressed our honest apologies and are working directly with the patient on this matter".

On Monday, Donald Bardwell took Samuel, his son, to the El Camino Hospital's emergency room.

"Sit up!" she then started shouting, pulling on his arm.

It ends with her accusing Samuel Bardwell of changing his story and using an expletive at him. "Now don't try to tell me you can't move".

The video was posted on Tuesday by Donald Bardwell.

"He was on medication for his anxiety, but was off his meds for two days because he couldn't get to the pharmacy before it closed", Donald Bardwell told The Mercury News.

"You want us to wheel you to your house in a gurney?"

Donald Bardwell protests, and Keegstra says his son's oxygen saturation levels are at 100 percent. I said, 'Please, dad, can you please take out your phone?. "Because if it's not a race thing and she treats everybody that way, then that's a problem", Donald Bardwell said.

"He can't inhale!" said Keegstra.

A day later, the hospital added an update, saying it has notified its contracted provider to permanently remove Keegstra from the list of approved physicians at all its hospitals. I'm just so confused of why somebody would treat me like that, Bardwell said.

On more than one occasion, the Los Gatos ER doc ordered Samuel to get off the consultation table despite the boy telling her that he was unable to walk. "In my mind, I don't think she should be practicing medicine at all".
