Entering the final matchday, Group B has yet to produce a definitive knockout stage representative.

Neither Egypt nor Saudi Arabia have any points but with the Saudis shipping six goals, anything but a win will see them finish last.

"But on Monday Iran are going to play against Portugal, not against Cristiano".

Spain only need a point against Morocco on Monday to seal their spot in the last 16. But while Iran's path to the next round is fairly straightforward, Spain and Portugal are still likely to reach the knockout stage. A draw between those sides and and an Iceland win means it's down to the tiebreakers again between Nigeria and Iceland.

There will be a familiar face in the Iran dugout in Carlos Queiroz, a long-time friend of Santos´s who coached his native Portugal at the 2010 World Cup.

Croatia qualified with that comprehensive victory over Argentina.

If both Portugal and Spain win, the victor of the group comes down to goal differential. Second place, however, is up for grabs.

Argentina can still make the last 16 but they must beat Nigeria and hope results go their way, while Iceland have to beat Croatia and hope that either Argentina win but their own margin of victory is greater, or Nigeria and Argentina draw and they still go through on goal difference.

Advances with win or draw against Serbia.

Serbia must beat Brazil to qualify but a draw could see them through if the Swiss are beaten by Costa Rica by more than one goal.

Salah was pictured with Chechnya leader Ramzan Kadyrov , who has been accused of torture, prior to the tournament beginning. Reports that Salah could refuse to play in Egypt's final group game was rubbished by the player's agent and Salah himself.

Advances with win or draw against France. Serbia, meanwhile, will qualify should they defeat Brazil - though which of Brazil or Switzerland misses out in that instance depends on the other result.

Australia need to beat Peru, also at 2am, and hope Denmark lose. Win and they're through.

Bottom side South Korea could also still go through, but they need to beat Germany by several goals and hope for a Mexico win against Sweden.

England and Belgium are guaranteed to progress but their finishing positions will be decided by their meeting on Thursday.

Boring. Belgium and England are through and meet at 6am on Friday to decide who tops the group.

All ties are broken by a list of tiebreakers, first by goal differential, then (if still level) goals scored, goals scored against the tied teams, even down to the lowest number of disciplinary points (yellow and red cards).

See a complete breakdown of Group B below.

Poland are out but Japan, Senegal and Colombia are all fighting for a place in the next round.

Egypt: Eliminated. Will finish third if they avoid defeat against Saudi Arabia.
